In Virginia, MXI Environmental Services reports that it has expanded capacity to 3 Mgy, up 200 percent, for its ethanol recovery plant that utilizes industrial and consumer packaged good waste as well as alcoholic beverage waste as feedstock. Case goods are processed in equipment that captures the liquids and recycles the packaging. Liquids are transferred to the ethanol recovery facility, where the ethanol is distilled to product specifications and the water is recycled.
