Huffington Post says low renewable energy campaign donations responsible for Washington inaction on climate change; $515 billion for clean energy required to prevent global warming

In California, the Huffington Post is reporting that the renewable energy industry has invested $25 million in political campaign donations since 1990, compared to $2 billion by “individuals associated with Wall Street”.

The Post article decreed that “the dysfunction that results could not be more clear,” based on the “financial sector’s ability to escape regulation,” and attributed the political system’s failure to address fossil fuel emissions to “the fact that the environmental movement lacked the financial resources to buy political clout.”

The Post article said that investment in clean energy must triple to $515 billion per year if greenhouse gas emission targets are to be met.

    1. Climate Change has a price tag? Is this a “valid” price or merely a SWAG by those whose job it is to “placate” the masses? Gov’t biofuels funding is a circus with nothing but clowns, VC’s are the freak show and the price of admission is based on the “old” way of doing business. The VC’s (unfortunately the good ones too) are aspiring to the same business practices that started this problem in the first place. Ego-tripping greed de-coupled from ethics & morals.

When will the only planet we have be valued beyond mere human greed and apathy?
