UK climate chief says airline tickets must be rationed to meet emissions targets

In the UK, the Chairman of the UK’s Committee on Climate Change, Lord Turner, recommended that airline flights should be individually rationed to ensure that aggressive national emissions targets are met. Lord Turner said that airline travel would have to be reduced, and that rationing restrictions would need to be imposed to meet overall emissions caps.
