Missouri’s Prairie Pride retains RBC Bank for financing, strategic initiative search
In Missouri, RBC Bank announced that its investment bank unit was retained by Prairie Pride to explore strategic initiatives and financing options. Missouri-based cooperative Prairie Pride has 21 million bushels of soybean crushing capacity, producing more than 467,000 tons of soymeal and 30 Mgy of biodiesel.
John Nelson, Prairie Pride’s general manager stated, “RBC’s expertise and global relationships within the niche are unsurpassed. We think Prairie Pride is uniquely positioned within the industry since we are generating strong revenues, have solid agreements in place including procurement agreements with our cooperative members and an offtake agreement with a leading commodities trading company in place. Furthermore, we are one of the few independent producers operating at this scale with BQ-9000 certification, which is now critical since quality has become one of the foremost challenges in our industry.”
