In Florida, New Generation Biofuels announced that to Delta Chemical will test its renewable biofuel in a Cleaver-Brooks boiler. Delta’s goal is to establish New Gen biofuel as a low-cost alternative to investment in emissions reduction equipment required for continued use of fossil fuels. New Generation said that its renewable biofuels, formed via addition of proprietary emulsifiers to straight vegetable oil (SVO) instead of transesterification, reduces NOx by as much as 60 percent and virtually eliminates SOx emissions.
