EdenIQ launches Corn3 system that will save $20 million per 100 Mgy ethanol plant through 12+ percent ethanol yield gains
In California, EdeniQ announced its new Corn3 Yield Enhancement Program that will increase yields from corn ethanol from 2.69 gallons per bushel to more than 3.00. The 12+ percent gain in productivity increases the “crush spread” between corn prices and ethanol prices and drops directly to the bottom line of ethanol producers.
EdeniQ management said that the use of the new technology will reduce the corn bill of a 100 Mgy ethanol plant by as much as $20 million. Corn3 uses a combination of biological and mechanical processes and requires no upfront investment in the first phase. The technology has been successfully implemented at the company’s pilot plant Visalia, and the company said it will deploy the program at numerous locations in 2009.
