Today in Biofuels Digest reader forums: “In the ag biomass setting complete pyrolysis with no end products but gas seems wasteful.”

At LinkedInKari Lemons Greenstock LLC: “In the ag biomass setting complete pyrolysis with no end products but gas seems wasteful. Ag BioPower’s system as described on their website produces 3 products: gas, bioOil and Char. The gas is used to power the pyrolosys machine, with the BioOil and Char as saleable products. Internationally the use of Char as a carbon sequestration method and soil admendment is getting great support just do a search on Bio Char to see. I am hopeful that the California Air Resource Board will allow Ag Biopower’s pyrolysis machine to be used in the state. Between wineries, rice and the friut and nut tree growers this technology could help California meet its carbon reduction and alternative fuel goals. My question to Sam Theissen, is his company’s machine for sale YET? I’ve talked to a farmer in VA who has a prototype and he loves it. “
