In Vietnam, PetroVietnam announced that it would construct three new 22 Mgy ethanol facilities in the southern province of Binh Phuoc, the northern province of Phu Tho, and in the central province of Quang Ngai.
The company said that it will jointly develop the projects with (Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited and Petro Vietnam Tourism and Service Company.
The Phu Tho project is expected to open in 2010, while the Binh Phuoc and Quang Ngai projects is scheduled for later development and financing. The ethanol will be used to provide an E5 ethanol, which is currently being tested in Ho Chi Minh City. after the completion of the Phu Tho project.
