20 aviation organizations issue 11-point manifesto on alternative fuels, climate change

In Washington, 20 airline and aviation associations issued an 11-point set of guiding principles that it said “should frame the debate on aviation and climate change”.

The industry groups, including the International Air Transport Association, the National Air Carrier Association, the National Business Aviation Association among other groups called for: cost-benefit analysis on regulations, federal jurisdiction over regulation; coordination with international community; a “science-based” debate on emissions and climate change, as well as increases funding and testing “to drive the research, development and deployment of commercially viable, environmentally friendly alternative jet fuels as well as an unleaded fuel for general aviation”.
