Clean Edge projects global biofuel revenues will triple in next ten years; faster growth than solar

energygrowth08-18Clean Edge released its for Renewable Energy Growth, projecting that global revenues for solar, wind and biofuels will increase by 173 percent over the next ten years, while biofuels will increase by 201 percent over the same period. According to the report, renewables increased in sales by 53 percent alone in the 2007-08 period.

The study found that 17 billion gallons of ethanol and 2.5 billon gallons of biodiesel were produced in 2008.

The report also found that clean energy investment — including corporate, venture capital and public sector investment in projects and R&D increased globally to $155 billion in 2008, up from $148 billion in 2007.
