In Mexico, Reuters published a recap of jatropha development, including the development of a $936,000 research biodiesel facility in southern Mexico. The new facility, which will be developed in cooperation with Columbia, will have a capacity of 1 Mgy. Mexico’s Agriculture Ministry has identified 6.4 million acres that would economically justified in switching to jatropha cultivation.
