Today in Biofuels Opinion: “Between 1,000 and 4,000 litres of water are needed to produce a single litre of biofuel.”

From Smart Money: “Lockheed Martin Co. is serious about national security, and these days that means increasing development around renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies as much as jets or missile defense systems…As part of its expansion into the renewable energy market the Bethesda, MD.-based company has set aside $10 million for investment in energy technologies developed outside of Lockheed Martin that could be of value to the company.”

From Farming UK: “Biofuels, with current technology, are likely to place a disproportionate amount of pressure on biodiversity and the environment. The major problem is the need for large quantities of water and fertilizers to grow the crops. Between 1,000 and 4,000 litres of water are needed to produce a single litre of biofuel.”
