Promethium Carbon highlights CDM opportunities and technical challenges

In “CDM Opportunities in Biofuels”, Robbie Louw and Joslin Andrews of Promethium Carbon surveyed project and technical details of CDM projects, a survey of the world energy market and where CDM projects fit in, including case study examples of a 100,000 hectare jatropha and moringa project in Ghana, and a 10,000 hectare jatropha project in Zambia.

The presentation, which can be downloaded here, contains valuable mass-balanced and energy-balanced process flow diagrams for jatropha. Louw highlighted the importance of biomass, as opposed to biofuels, in the Clean Development Mechanism.
