Bloomberg is reporting that airlines will win approval to commence using biofuels in commercial aircraft as soon as next year. IATA said that it is now negotiating with more than 10 companies for making jet fuel from biomass. Certain airlines have internal targets as well as limits on free carbon imposed by the looming European Emissions Trading Scheme. Lufthansa, for example, has a 10 percent internal target for 2020.
