California lays out alternative fuels funding plan: 10 percent for ethanol, biodiesel and renewable diesel combined
In California, the Fuels and Transportation Division of the California Energy Commission released its “Investment Plan for the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Plan”, downloadable here. The proposal allocates a total of $176 million for vehicle incentives, R&D, fuel storage, fuel production and manufacturing plants grants and incentives.
Under the proposal $5 million would be allocated to support ethanol stations and zero for biodiesel and renewable diesel, while $40 million will be allocated to hydrogen fueling stations. In total, ethanol and biodiesel will receive $18 million in funding, while natural gas will receive $43 million, electric drive $46 million and hydrogen $40 million in overall support.
