In Washington, the Internal Revenue Service moved a deadline forcing producers to meet the newest version of the ASTM D 6751 biodiesel standard in order to collect a $1 per gallon tax credit. The deadline has been moved to October 1, 2009 from an original date of April 1st. BQ-9000 certified producers must meet the new version’s requirements to maintain their certification, but other producers will have the additional time to meet the new requirements, including a Cold Soak Filtration Test.
