$4 million grant proposed for Illinois waste-to-energy pilot plant; Packer Engineering, Argonne National Lab, City of Naperville, College of DuPage in partnership

In Illinois, Packer Engineering announced a request for a $4 million grant for a biomass-to-energy pilot plant that would developed in partnership with Argonne National Laboratory, the College of DuPage and the city of Naperville.

The project would convert yard and agricultural waste to electricity, hydrogen and ethanol. Backers of the project said that 5,000 green jobs would be directly created by the project.
