Biofuels Digest Index gains 0.94 percent on large cap rise

Illinois landfill, Big River Resource ethanol plant in waste deal

In Illinois, Knox County Landfill said that it expects to seal a deal to accept 15-20 tons of ethanol and related byproducts from the Big River Resources ethanol plant at its landfill, generating $16,000 per month for the county.

Brazilian research team cuts sugarcane ethanol production waste by 50 percent

South Korea says it will produce 396 Mgy of ethanol from 86,000 acres of new offshore seaweed forests

In South Korea, national energy officials confirmed that the country will invest $275 over ten years to create 86,000 acres of offshore seaweed forests that will produce up to 396 Mgy of ethanol by 2020.  The production capacity would replace up to 13 percent of South Korea’s petroleum consumption.
