B100 no longer compatible with VW, Mercedes, Nissan, Renault, Jeep, Ford Power Stroke, Ford E-series vans, Dodge Rams, Cummins 6.7 and Chevy Duramax, says Popular Mechanics article
An article at Popular Mechanics.com revealed that, due to manufacturing design of diesel particulate filters, B100 biodiesel will no longer run in diesel engines from VW, Mercedes, Nissan, Renault, Jeep, Ford Power Stroke, Ford E-series vans, Dodge Rams, Cummins 6.7 and Chevy Duramax. The author writes that “most of the manufactures decided to inject fuel into the cylinders just after the cylinder fires and the exhaust valve opens,” causing fuel vaporization that cleans the DPF. Biodiesel’s higher vaporization point causes fuel to adhere to the cylinder walls, diluting engine oil instead of cleaning the filter.
