Biotech 2009 Life Sciences: Navigating the Sea Change released; survey of BioGreenTech horizons addresses collapse of traditional financing structure for biotech sector

In California, Burrill & Company released its 23rd annual industry report, Biotech 2009 Life Sciences, subtitled Navigating the Sea Change. The report contains extensive analysis and perspective on the performance of the biotech/life sciences industry in 2008 and forward projections for 2009 and beyond, including an extensive section on biofuels.

The 400+ page book analyzes the impact of the collapse of the traditional markets for inexpensive venture capital, the collapse of the IPO market, as well as  the permanent restructure of the financial industry, on development prospects for the biotech industry. The book contains an extensive chapter of the BioGreenTech sector including an investigation of sustainability; food, energy and environmental security; biogreentech, agbiotech, and green chemistry; plus bioplastics, and integrated biorefineries.

It’s without question the best one-stop survey of current biotech trends, and its conclusions about the impact of financial restructuring, as well as its vision for a broader BioGreenTech sector, make it an important addition to the corporate bookshelf.
