Biofuels Digest Index slumps 2.62 percent to 51.00 as ADM earnings hit

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, slumped  2.62 percent to 51.00, as Archer Daniels Midland’s disappointing earnings report overshadowed a surge in microcap ethanol stocks.  Archer Daniels Midland (ADM)  fell 8.90 percent to $23.84,  while Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) gained 40.48 percent to $0.59.  Among small caps, Biofuel Energy (BIOF) gained 51.61 percent to $0.47.  Overall, advances led declines 8 to 7 for the day.
