In Germany, Germany’s Protein and Oil Plant Association (UFOP) reported that biodiesel and plant oil fuel sales strongly declined over the last year. Biodiesel sales for admixing purposes increased by 221,000 tons to a total of 1,600,000 tons. Biodiesel sales for pure application (B100) decreased by 673,000 tons from 1.84 million tons in 2007 to 1.17 million tons in 2008 (-36 %). Overall, biodiesel sales declined 14 percent to 2.81 million tons.
