Japan studies shift from E3 to E10 ethanol mandate

In Japan, the Ministry of Environment has commenced a 3-year study on the impact of increasing the country’s E3 mandate to E10, noting that although Japanese manufacturers sell E10 compliant cars overseas they do not make such vehicles available in the Japanese market. Osaka prefectural government will study ethanol produced from construction waste, while the Tokachi district in Hokkaido will study ethanol made from agricultural waste.
