Braskem secured $268 million for ethanol-to-polyethylene project

In Brazil, Braskem announced a $268 million loan commitment from the Brazilian state development bank (BNDES) to produce polyethylene from ethanol.

The company will commit an investment of $380 million to the project, which will be located in Triunfo and commence operations in late 2010.
