In Illinois, the Environmental Working Group published its report on the risks to health as well as auto safety and performance poses by a conversion to E15 and E20 ethanol blends. According to the report, “the U.S. legacy fleet is too diverse to predict E15/E20 impacts from the limited available data. Until these data are generated and assessed, consumer safety, public health, and environmental protection may be at risk from adoption of mid-level ethanol blends.”
The report is accessible here.
