Biofuels Digest Index gains 1.94 percent to 55.23 as ethanol surges

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, gained 1.94 percent to 55.23 as ethanol stocks advanced. For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) rose 5.11 percent to $27.17, while BlueFire Ethanol (BFRE) jumped 14.95 percent to $1.23.  Among small caps, Global Energy Holdings (GNH) lost 11.11 percent to $0.16.  Overall, advances led declines 3 to 2 for the day.
