Dominican Republic reports only 3 of 71 requested renewable energy projects in operation; $2 billion pinion resin biodiesel venture mulled

In the Dominican Republic, Dominican Today is reporting that only three out of 71 requested renewable energy projects have commenced operation. One of the three active projects is a one cultivating land for ethanol production in Montecristi. Dominican Today is also reporting that only half of the project requests have been approved by the CNE, with only 11 of these definitive and the other 25 “provisional”.

However, the CNE announced a $2.0 billion investment in pinion resin biodiesel that would be cultivated in Montecristi province.
