Today in Biofuels Opinion: “Is it a good fuel? It’s an ugly baby, but it’s our ugly baby. I’d rather use ethanol than foreign fuel.”

T. Boone Pickens: “Is it a good fuel? It’s an ugly baby, but it’s our ugly baby. I’d rather use ethanol than foreign fuel. We’re going to get off of foreign oil, and it’s going to open up all kinds of opportunities for all of us. In 2008 we spent $5 more billion for foreign oil. Just think, if we had half of this back here, how many more jobs it would create.”

President Barack Obama: “Advanced renewable transportation fuels will be one of the nation’s most important industries in the 21st Century. Combined with improved energy efficiency, biofuels are the primary near-term option for insulating consumers against future oil price shocks and for lowering the transportation sector’s carbon footprint.”
