Biofuels Digest Index slumps 4.38 percent to 57.70 on Valero tumble

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, slumped 4.38 percent  to 57.70 on a big fall in Valero after disappointing forward guidance from the company.  For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) lost 1.97 percent to $27.80, while Valero (VLO) lost 17.78 percent to $18.40.  Among small caps, Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE) fell 16.35 percent to close at $6.09. Overall, declines led advances 2 to 1 for the day.
