Spain’s Ecofasa develops technique to convert solid waste to biodiesel feedstock

In Spain, Ecofasa announced that they have developed a process to convert municipal solid waste into biodiesel feedstock. Traditional processes for converting municipal solid waste to energy featured conversion to syngas, biogas or ethanol.

The groups said that it has secured a group of patents around the technology dating to 2005-07, and that it utilizes the natural processes by which organisms produce fatty acids.
