In the Netherlands, Biofuels Digest LinkedIn group member Bas Vlugt posted an article on his blog regarding “the Sustainer,” which Solarix CEO Jan Hein Hiotsma described as “a containerised installation which can be used in rural areas to convert oil-bearing crops and seeds into edible oil and biodiesel.”
The company is expected to target installations in Africa where Solarix’s Sustainer solution can provide both fuel and a 25 kVA generator which runs on biodiesel. The Sustainer also includes four wind turbines and side solar panels that generate additional power.
