Ensus says 106 Mgy wheat ethanol plant in UK is “completing construction”

In the UK, Ensus said that it is completing construction now at the country’s first wheat ethanol plant, and said that the 106 Mgy plant, which cost $404 million, will be the largest wheat ethanol plant in the country until next year, when the 110 Mgy Associated British Foods and BP plant in Hull opens in April.

The Ensus plant, located in Teeside, will supply fuel towards the UK’s 3.5 percent Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation. The RTFO increases to 5 percent in 2013.
