Alternative Fuel Technologies selling DioMethyl Ether (DME) fuel injection system prototypes

In Michigan, Alternative Fuel Technologies said that it has sold protoypes of a DioMethyl Ether (DME) fuel injection system to the US Army and the Korean Institute for Energy Research. DME is an ultra-clean diesel fuel replacement that can be manufactured at low cost from many sources, including renewable materials (biomass, waste and agricultural products).

According to the company, the cost of producing DME is only 1/4 to 1/2 that of diesel fuel produced from crude oil, depending on the feedstock utilized.
