Jim Walker, managing director of  Argent Energy: “I have nothing but praise for the attitude of the Scottish governments…over the past few years but south of the border after a lot of fine words all we have seen is policy cockups and confusion. Three or four years ago, I remember Alistair Darling coming to see us and a string of other politicians from Tony Blair downwards were all keen to be associated with the business, but nowadays they are all too interested in saving their own skins to be bothered.”
