In Colorado, the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition announced that it intends to merge within Growth Energy and will be known in the future as Growth Energy Market Development. The group will continue to advocate for wider adoption of higher ethanol blends such as E85 and the availability of flex-fuel vehicles.
The NEVC had 1,600 members. Executive Director of NEVC, Phil Lampert, will becomeVice President of Market Development for Growth Energy. Lampert noted that before NEVC was founded in 1996, there were only ten E85 pumps and 500 flex-fuel vehicles in the US, and that the numbers had increased to 2,000 and 8 million respectively. Growth Energy previously absorbed the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council last year.
