Jatropha is the unproven crop for comeercial and economical viability due to the relatively very low and uns ecured yield. It is a risk to promote this energy crop to compete using the arable land for food crop while the country is a net food importing country. It was clearly mention with testimonial supportive evidences that growing Jatropha in Marginal land will genenrate marginal yield which definitely not economical viable at all. It is better for Pillipines to use limit arable land to have first the food crops before promoting the unproven energy crop of Jatropha. The hype of Jatropha becomes a fahsionable trend in agriculture promotion in Phillpines without any guarante of success.
