In Minnesota, the new 50 Mgy Highwater Ethanol plant has completed construction and is ready to open in Lamberton by mid-July. The plant will utilize 6 million bushels of corn from the 3500 member Meadowland Farmers Coop, and will produce up to 160,000 tons of distillers grains that will be marketed back to the Coop and elsewhere by CHS.
The new plant will feature faster fermentation and lower water usage than earlier-generation corn ethanol plants.
