Algae Movers and Shakers: Algal Biomass Organization (ABO)

More than 600 people attended the last annual ABO summit, and up to 1000 are expected at this year’s meeting in San Diego in October, bringing together many of the best-known phycologists, producers as well as high-visibility end-users including numerous airlines. ABO is led currently by two co-chairs from Boeing, Billy Glover and Darrin Morgan, who have been prime movers in algal jet fuel development and certification, although algae is only one feedstock in the mix and a long-term one at that.
