In Washington, Growth Energy took another step towards equalling or surpassing the Renewable Fuels Association as the leading voice in biofuels advocacy with the hiring of former Dick Durbin staffer Anne Steckel and former John Boehner staffer Ted Monoson to round out the Capitol Hill staff. Last week the Digest published an article discussing whether it is proper to consider the Renewable Fuels Association as a front for Archer Daniels Midland. As the rivalry heats up, perhaps the main beneficiaries are biofuels companies that have multiple organized and thoughtful organizations providing public sector advocacy.
