In India Suzlon has built big windfarms to power the border fence with Pakistan, but they each power only a section of the fence so that the rest of the system stays up even if a section goes down.

Another trend is ethanol plants that generate power for a rural grid from waste heat and bagasse. With the advent Gen 2 bagasse processing it will be interesting to see whether this continues.</description>
