In Washington, the federal comment period on E15 ethanol closes today. The Boat Owners Association of The United States (Boat US) and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) are asking that boat owners make an effort to comment regarding the problems with E10. Among problems cited by NMMA is that boat owners are not well educated that they must purchase 91 octane fuel that is advertised as “ethanol free” if they do not have ethanol-conpliant fuel hoses and systems. Boat groups are also warning that use of E15 could void warrranties.
