GreenHouse, Karl Strauss Brewery, EFuel partner for California ethanol venture

In California, GreenHouse and Karl Strauss Brewing Company announced a venture to convert old beer yeast into ethanol. Under the agreement, Karl Strauss will provide 28 tons per week of the waste, which can be converted for home and small business use using the MicroFueler. Karl Strauss and EFuel (developer of a small capacity ethanol MicroFueler) are both members of California’s GreenHouse Developmental Pilot Program.  GreenHouse will collect the left-over waste and distribute it throughout California.

The MicroFueler is a portable micro-refinery system that will transform refueling by creating the first at-home self-service pump. The appliance-sized MicroFueler units are pump-stations and ethanol distillers requiring only three kilowatts of electricity to produce one gallon of E-Fuel100 which in turn generates up to 23 kilowatts of energy.
