In Washington, a new survey from the US Energy Information Administration was sent last month to 176 biodiesel producers. The producers are holders of registered Renewable Identification Numbers. The survey gathers historical feedstock and production data from 2006, 2007 and 2008, and monthly data commencing from January 2009.
The EIA said that it expects to publish the survey results by September through the first five months of 2009 and will issue monthly reports thereafter, 90 days after the closing date for each monthly period. The survey is mandatory, although the EIA said it expects up to 50 percent of respondents to miss the deadline or response.
