In South Carolina, Organic Bio-Energy and Green Energy Partners said that they are 95 percent complete on a feasibility study for a $75 million, 35-acre biofuels facility at the John W. Matthews Industrial Park in Orangeburg County. The project would produce 4 Mgy of synthetic biodiesel, 1 Mgy of biobutanol and 44 MW. Algae is also under consideration as a research project. The project sponsors said that they plan for groundbreaking in early 2010 with operations commencing in mid 2011.
