Denver to acquire 250,000 gallons of B100 biodiesel using stimulus funds

In Colorado, the city of Denver will spend $700,000 of the grant received from the stimulus packaged to reduce its carbon emissions. The money was received from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and part of it will be spent on buying 250,000 gallons of B100 from Blue Sun Energy Inc.

Sabrina Williams, environmental analyst and grant project manager with Denver’s Department of Environmental Health said “We’ve been using biodiesel in the city’s fleet since 2004. This grant money will be used to offset the cost of purchasing the environmentally-friendly fuel.”
