Emami Biotech commits to $84 million, 100,000 acre oil seed project in Ethiopia

In Ethiopia, Emami Biotech said it will invest $84 million in a jatropha and other oilseed plantation project in Oromia, utilizing 100,000 acres allotted by the Oromia Investment Commission. The groups said it had already commenced development of 27,500 acres, and said that the project when fully realized will also feature a processing plant and will produce 28 Mgy of biodiesel. The biodiesel will be exported to India.
