Today in Biofuels Opinion: “Whatever is driving up grocery prices won’t be found on the farm.”

Tom Buis, CEO of Growth Energy: “Last year the Grocery Manufacturers Association developed a multimillion dollar misinformation campaign to blame American farmers and ethanol producers for higher food prices. Now it’s the GAO that is saying that farm prices are a fraction of the hike to grocery bills. Whatever is driving up grocery prices won’t be found on the farm and it merits further investigation by Congress.”

From the Mukilteo Beacon: “Hemp. This country is so backwards in its thinking of this great and easy-to-grow renewable product. Most newspapers won’t ever print anything that is positive about the cannabis plant. We could fuel cars on hemp oil and biodiesel, leaving corn for what it should be used for. Hemp could solve many of our nation’s problems and quickly. America’s founders all grew it, even the first flags were made from hemp!”
