In Virginia, Osage Bio Energy announced that it has partnered with Perdue AgriBusiness to obtain feedstock for its 65 Mgy barley ethanol plant in Hopewell. The company is seeking 28 million bushels of barley per year, and will produce 170,000 tons of barley meal and 50,000 tons of fuel pellets in addition to fuel, according to a report in the Times-Dispatch.
The company has raised $300 million to fund expansion, and project cost for the ethanol plant is pegged at $160 million.
