In the Philippines, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo launched the country’s first coconut biodiesel project, a $10.4 million processing plant in Pasuquin, as well as a $73 million plantation in more the villages of Balaoi, Caunayan and Caparispisan in Pagudpud. The plantation covers more than 1,000 hectares.
Philippine BioEnergy Northern Luzon and its Japan-based partner, Pacific Bio-Fields are partners in the project.
