In Indonesia, Jatoil has signed a MOU with Indonesian jatropha biofuel producer, PT Waterland International. Under the MOU, Jatoil would buy a controlling interest in up to 2000 hectares of jatropha farms in central Java. Jatoil has commenced due diligence in support of the transaction.
PT Waterland has established 12,000 hectares of oil producing jatropha farms and has planted an additional 60,000 hectares. Jatoil, which plans to establish sustainable biodiesel processing operations, has previously signed with GreenEnergy Biofuels to develop jatropha growing operations in Vietnam.
